Personality:

Lenalee is not a character that is as easy to understand as people think. This girl has a wide array of emotions that at times might be difficult to portray. She is indeed a very friendly, composed and kind person but she can also be fierce and angry or emotional and narrow-minded. She doesn't at all look like a person that would hold a grudge, but she surprisingly is. Lenalee would sometimes act like a caring older sister to Allen, but also a strict and stubborn friend. She cannot stand the thought of losing her friends and Komui, the only family she has left.

Lenalee is very emotional when it comes to her friends. She hates being unable to do anything for them, and she tends to blame herself if they ever got hurt. When Allen lost his Innocence, she did not even seem to appreciate the new uniforms her brother gave them.

Her brother is a little strange and sometimes his overprotective and doting nature is something Lenalee finds embarrassing or annoying, depending on the mood she is in. During the time Komurin II went out of control, Lenalee was fierce and showed no mercy despite the fact that her brother begged her to show mercy for his creation, blaming the coffee. It was not enough to change Lenalee's mind though. She destroyed the robot when it was about to 'hurt' Allen. However, while she was away on a mission with Allen, Krory, Bookman and Lavi to find General Cross, she had easily known that her brother was napping. It is much like a telepathic link. The siblings are very close, and despite the guilt of 'imprisoning' her brother to the Black Order she is happy to have her family by her side.

To the young Lenalee, her family was everything; which was probably why being separated from Komui was so painful. She had tried to kill herself the Black Order and this led to them strapping her down until Komui finally came. She is protective and loyal to her friends. It hurts her deeply when a friend is hurt or killed. The pain is like having a piece of her world chipped away.

During their first confrontation with Rhode Camelot, she had slapped Allen when he was about to save an Akuma. Allen demanded to know why she did that, and just as angrily she had replied, "Because we're friends!" A part of her hates and admires Allen's determination and willingness to sacrifice himself. It also shows that Lenalee might not care very much about the safety of enemies. Her priorities lie in the Black Order (because of Komui) and her friends. Honestly though, she might not be that fond of the order still. The Black Order Headquarters was like a prison to her before her brother came.

Lenalee is no angel. I doubt that Lenalee simply fights for God. It isn't that simple. Lenalee has a deep dislike for God, and probably as deep as her dislike for the Order. She had seen many experiments to create exorcists in the church. It must be quite traumatic for a child. Lenalee doesn't see the world as a map. Her world revolves around her friends and family. She fights to protect them and only them.

Lenalee is open to meeting new friends though. She made friends with Miranda Lotto very easily. It may be because that despite her dislike for the order, she trusts their allies. Which was probably why she refused to believe that Suman Dark had betrayed them.

She is surprisingly honest, and might not be a very good liar or actress. During an interview in the novels, she was asked questions which she had answered. It had been Komui's attempt to discover who was after his dear sister's innocence. The last question was if she had someone she liked. Lenalee had no reply but her answer was already obvious on her face. The answer is most likely yes. It is still being debated among fans who though.
